Sometimes, Pocketbook e-readers can get stuck. It can be pretty annoying if you don’t know how to quickly fix the issue. Don’t worry, I’m here to share some tips to get your device back up and running.

If you’d rather watch a video on how to unlock your Pocketbook e-reader, there’s a tutorial video you can check out below:

First off, it can seem like your e-reader is broken, especially if you’re stuck on a book page and can’t turn the pages anymore. This can be frustrating, but most of the time, it’s just a software glitch.

E-readers use an electronic ink screen that can keep showing what's on the display even without power. This might trick you into thinking everything is working when, in reality, your e-reader has just encountered a bug.

Here’s how to unlock your Pocketbook e-reader:

First, get a USB cable – the one that came with your e-reader or another compatible one will do.

Plug one end of the cable into your e-reader’s USB port and the other end into a computer or power outlet.

Let the device charge for about 4 to 5 hours to make sure it has all the juice it needs. If your e-reader is stuck, a low battery might be the culprit.

Then, while it’s still plugged in, press the ON/OFF button for about 20 to 30 seconds. This should completely restart the device. Usually, the screen should refresh and unlock.

If it doesn’t, don’t lose hope. Wait about 5 to 10 minutes, then try pressing the button again for a few seconds. Sometimes, a little patience is all it takes.

Unfortunately, if your e-reader is still unresponsive, you might need to repeat this process a few more times. If, after several tries, it still doesn’t work, there might be a more serious issue with your e-reader.

Another scenario to consider: if your e-reader gets stuck just minutes (or an hour or two) after being charged, this might indicate a battery problem.

If the battery can’t hold a charge and only lasts a few minutes, it can cause abnormal functioning. Unfortunately, e-reader cases are often glued shut, so fixing them yourself can be tricky.

In general, an e-reader has a lifespan of about 5 to 7 years, so hopefully, you won’t run into this kind of problem too often.
